Tereshchenko, Kalenyk [Терещенко, Каленик; Tereščenko], b 11 August 1879 in Popivka, Zvenyhorodka county, Kyiv gubernia, d 3 June 1969 in Zvenyhorodka, Cherkasy oblast. Sculptor. After graduating from the Shtiglits School of Technical Drawing in Saint Petersburg (1908) he worked in Vladimir Beklemishev’s studio (1908–14) and took part in decorating the tsar’s palaces in Peterhof and Tsarskoe Selo. He designed busts for the monuments to Taras Shevchenko at Shevchenko’s grave in Kaniv (1923; see Shevchenko National Preserve), and in Shpola (1926), Moryntsi (1927), Kyrylivka (1930), and Horodyshche (Cherkasy region).
