Honorsky, Rozumnyk
Honorsky, Rozumnyk [Гонорський, Розумник; Honors'kyj], b 1790 in Tula, Russia, d 27 August 1819 in Kharkiv. Writer and publicist. Having studied at the Saint Petersburg Pedagogical Institute, Honorsky became a lecturer of literature, statistics, and geography at Kharkiv University (1816). Along with Evgraf Filomafitsky and Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko, he edited and published one of the first journals in Ukraine, Ukrainskii vestnik (Kharkiv) (1816–19). He also wrote poetry and a number of works on literary theory.
