Teliha, Mykhailo [Теліга, Михайло], b 21 November 1900 in Okhtyrskyi, Kuban oblast, d February 1942 in Kyiv. Civic activist and banduryst; husband of Olena Teliha. He took part in the Ukrainian struggle for independence (1917–20) and then emigrated to Czechoslovakia. In 1929 he moved to Warsaw. A forester by profession, he was active in the Union of Ukrainian Emigrant Engineers and Technicians in Poland. Toward the end of 1941 he accompanied his wife, a member of the OUN expeditionary groups, to Kyiv, and he was arrested with her by the Gestapo on 9 February 1942. He was executed a few days later in prison.
